We’ve reached the end of our spotlight series Midas Meets, where we’ve sat down with different members of our brilliant team to understand what drives the bold and cutting-edge work we do and find out a bit more about the person behind the work. Head to our team page to find out more about our brilliant staff here.
This month, we spoke to Director, Fiona Marsh, who is essential to driving new business at Midas and building our ever-growing roster of clients. Fiona has been at Midas for over 14 years, where she keeps us on track for formal pitch presentations, attend and dazzle a new client at an in person pitch meeting, and help keep our overall systems on in order.
Here’s what she has to say…
Something I won’t shut up about is…
The return of #FeelGoodThursday – an opportunity for staff to practise their presentation skills in a safe environment and to share any learnings that may benefit others followed by pizza to celebrate our achievements. Who doesn’t love sharing a FeelGood moment?
Best thing about my job is…
Oh, where to begin? I love my job as much today as I did when I joined MIDAS fourteen years ago. Being the first point of contact for all new business enquiries means I get to meet so many different people from all walks of life and it is a real privilege and a pleasure to hear their fascinating stories and to be given the opportunity of potentially helping them to fulfil their dreams and ambitions. So many unique and inspirational life experiences along with depth of knowledge and expertise – there is never a dull day.
I got to where I am today by…
Being resilient. Life can be very challenging and change can be very scary but I believe that things happen for a reason and that every situation is an opportunity to learn.
In my spare time, I like to…
Be outside (preferably in the sunshine), whether taking my GoldenDoodle, Theo, to Richmond Park, walking with my husband round Venice (our favourite City), heading to the south coast for my annual ‘Ladies That Luff’ sailing weekend, playing softball with my son and daughter in the Greater London Mixed Softball League or simply sunbathing on my flat roof.
One thing I wish I knew at the start of my career is…
It’s okay to say NO! Being a people pleaser is not helpful to anyone and admitting that you can’t do something is a sign of strength, not weakness.
