JANUARY

2023 is the year of the rabbit in the Chinese New Year, and offers an opportunity to inspire change and take up healthier habits, such as Veganuary, Dry January or even Damp January. January is also prime time for a number of cultural events including the Grammys and Golden Globes.

FEBRUARY

Roses and chocolates galore for this month as Valentine’s Day approaches. February is also a big month for fashion, film, and music, with the BAFTAs, The BRIT Awards and London Fashion Week set to grab people’s attention – keep an eye out for everyone sharing their favourite red-carpet moments.

MARCH

March is the month to celebrate women, whether it’s for Mother’s Day, International Women’s Day, or Women’s History Month. The month is a busy month for the book world too, with awareness days such as World Book Day, National Reading Month, World Poetry Day and much more.

APRIL

This month’s theme is change and reflection, with religious holidays such as Lent, Easter, Ramadan Eid taking place. And with April Fool’s Day, brands have a chance to share fun and playful content.

MAY

May the force be with you this month, as many will be gearing up for the various bank holidays, including the coronation day for King Charles III. May is also filled with a number of and literary anniversaries, including Sherlock Holmes Day and Dracula Day.

JUNE

It’s Pride month, where the LGBTQIA+ community and allies come together and commemorate the Gay liberation movement. It’s also a chance to show support for your local bookshops with Independent Bookshop Week taking place in the last week of June.

JULY

July is focused on independence and political activism, from US Independence Day, Canada Day and Bastille Day. It’s also a crucial time for many sports fans with Tour de France, Wimbledon, and the FIFA Women’s World Cup.

AUGUST

With summer in full swing, brands can make the most of the holiday season by tying in fun activity-based content with awareness days like World Photography Day and International Beer Day.

It’s back to school, but not just for children across the UK. Awareness days such as Read a Book Day and International Literacy Day present a great opportunity for booksellers and publishers to re-engage with followers after the summer holiday period.
