It’s that time of the year again, and Netflix has a host of festive flicks for the whole family to snuggle up to. Here are some of our guilty-pleasure picks to get you in the holiday spirit.
The Princess Switch (1, 2& 3)
It wouldn’t be a Christmas film list without mentioning The Princess Switch, starring Vanessa Hudgens as her own doppelgänger in a Prince and the Pauper-inspired film.
With talks of a potential fourth film on the horizon, this Christmas is the perfect time to binge the camp and fun saga.
A Christmas Prince (1, 2&3)
What can perhaps be credited as one of the first films to launch Netflix’s holiday cinematic universe, A Christmas Prince follows a young American magazine journalist who wins the affections of Prince Richard of Aldovia.
Let it Snow
A blizzard affects the personal lives of a group of small-town high-schoolers. The star-studded cast features the likes of Spider-Man: Homecoming’s Jacob Batalon and Chilling Adventures of Sabrina’s Kiernan Shipka. Based on John Green’s novel.
Klaus
The critically acclaimed animated film follows a postman who is forced to relocate to Smeerensburg by his father. However, he joins hands with a reclusive toymaker, Klaus, to spread joy in the dark and dreary town.
The film picked up several awards, as well as an Academy Award nomination for Best Animated Feature – the first Netflix original nominated in this category!
The Christmas Chronicles (1&2)
Kurt Russell stars as a surprising ‘cool’ Santa who enlists the help of a brother and sister, who have grown apart after recently losing their father, to restore the festive cheer in time for Christmas eve.
For its sequel, Russell is joined by his real-life partner as Mrs. Claus Goldie Hawn to once again save Christmas, when an adversary threatens to ruin it for everyone. It’s a treat!
Falling for Christmas
Making her return to the silver screen (in your living rooms), Lindsay Lohan stars as a newly engaged spoiled heiress who suffers a skiing accident in the days before Christmas. After she is diagnosed with amnesia, she finds herself in the care of the handsome cabin owner and his daughter.
