This year’s theme for Mental Health Week Awareness Week will be exploring ‘loneliness’, its effect on our mental health, and how we can all play a part in our community supporting loneliness.

Self-healing with psychologist Paul Chaplin 

Paul Chaplin is a psychologist, who having retired from a 25-year long career in law and an adventurous life in media production in 2013, changed direction to the path of psychology and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). 

His ground-breaking book I Want to Love But: Realising the Power of You, was published in 2019, and led to him being awarded a Philosophy Doctorate (Ph.D, Psychology) by publication. 

Now, Paul’s frontiers of science research work is now set out in the Matrixial Science trilogy, which he applies to his Matrixial Healing Practice, working alongside his practice partner, Fiona Graham, to help a wide range of clients, from all walks of life.

TV chef and presenter, Delia Smith, to speak at Bradford Literature Festival 

Bradford Literature Festival (BLF), the North of England’s leading literature festival, has announced its full 2022 programme for the eighth annual live in-person festival featuring over 500 events for adults and children from 24 June to 3 July 2022

Over the 10 days, attendees will hear from speakers across the worlds of literature, politics, history and the arts, covering a range of themes including well-being and neurodivergence. 

Notable health and wellbeing events include: Iconic chef and television presenter Delia Smith discussed the nature of what it means to be human from her new book, You Matter, Writer, whilst broadcaster Horatio Clare (Heavy Light) will discuss mental health and its direct impact on our everyday lives. Journalist Sarah Shaffi will be in conversation with panellists Sara Gibbs (Drama Queen) and Rebecca Schiller (Earthed) as they discuss the highs and lows of being diagnosed as neurodivergent in adulthood.
