Introducing our new Senior Account Executive, Kat Daly, who joined Midas in November 2021. Kat brings a mixed background of visual arts and tech communications having worked with CEOs, artists and arts organisations for over 3 years. Kat has worked on various projects since joining Midas, working with Ai-Da the robot, The Box Plymouth, Antonio Weiss, Artes Mundi, Joe Zammit Lucia’s New Political capitalism and Andy Last’s Business on a Mission.

Something I won’t shut up about is…
London has so much to offer when it comes to discovering new artists and art. The capital is crammed full of some of the best collections and exhibitions, with so much to discover, often for free. Growing up in relatively rural areas, visual art was always something I needed to seek out, but living in London now, it’s more about what can I fit in.
Best thing about my job is…
I get to hear about other people’s stories, what drives them, what they’re passionate about. I think PR is sometimes misrepresented as cold or impersonal, but that’s simply not the case. People who make things or start businesses, want to change something in the world: it takes passion and dedication. Having the opportunity to tell their stories is something I love about my job.
I got to where I am today by…
Not settling. It can be easy to be pulled in so many directions in life, but for me, finding an agency which encourages people to pursue what fascinates them and to try new things all the time, is really important.
In my spare time I like to…
In all honesty I’m a bit of a magpie. I spend far too much of my spare time in vintage and charity shops looking for weird and wonderful things. My family are based in Lincolnshire which always has the best stuff (Newark Antiques Fair is well worth the trip) but Camden (where I currently reside) has some great places still, if you know where to look.
One thing I wish I knew at the start of my career is…
It’s a good thing to say no and to set boundaries. It sounds cliché, but it can be all too easy to say yes to something you know deep down won’t bring value to a campaign. Your intuition matters, listen to it and don’t be afraid to challenge others.
