Bookshop (www.Bookshop.org) has today announced the appointment of Sophie Lambert to its advisory board, marking the platform’s continuing growth and plans for future development.
Lambert started off as a bookseller on Charing Cross Road and became a buyer for Blackwell and later for Foyles. After a stint at Janklow & Nesbit in New York, she returned to London and joined Tibor Jones & Associates where she started her own list. She joined C&W in 2013 and is now a director there as well as representing a wide range of prize winning and bestselling authors.
She will join the Board of Bookshop’s UK arm, which consists of: Bookshop.org Founder and CEO, Andy Hunter; Bookshop.org UK Managing Director, Nicole Vanderbilt; Meryl Halls, Managing Director of the Booksellers Association; Sharmaine Lovegrove, Publisher at Dialogue Books; and Fleur Sinclair, Owner at Sevenoaks Bookshop.
Sophie Lambert said: “As a former bookseller, being invited to take on this role with the pioneering Bookshop.org is an honour. Supporting independent bookshops is something I feel passionate about and as a literary agent I know what lifelines those retailers can be for authors.”
Nicole Vanderbilt, UK Managing Director at Bookshop.org, said: “We are thrilled to welcome Sophie to our board. Her combination of bookselling and agent experience will be incredibly valuable to us as we chart our plans for the highest impact work to support the indie bookshops we all love.”
Lambert joins the board effective immediately.
