About Midas’ nominated campaign, World Book Night:
World Book Night (WBN) is the annual celebration of books and reading taking place on 23 April, organised by The Reading Agency. Events up and down the country run by individuals and organisations celebrate the difference that reading makes to people’s lives, with a focus on non-readers and lapsed readers.
On 23 March 2020, four weeks before WBN, the UK went into lockdown due to COVID-19. Midas responded quickly to adapt the focus of the campaign to a virtual celebration of books and reading, to go beyond the WBN 2020 booklist and exploit the potential of digital and new media to transcend the limitations imposed by lockdown.

About Midas’ nominated campaign, Bookshops Fight Back:
Bookshops Fight Back is the UK PR launch campaign for Bookshop.org, an online platform where consumers can buy books whilst financially supporting local, independent bookshops.
The UK launch was brought forward in light of the devastating impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on independent bookshops and the high street more broadly. With a new launch date of early November 2020, the UK roll out became all the more urgent as bookshops in England were forced to close again in a second lockdown, and bookshops across the UK faced a number of operating restrictions during the crucial Christmas shopping period.
The PRCA Dare Awards winners will be announced on 1st July 2021 at a special ceremony at The Waldorf Hilton Hotel. Wish Midas luck!
