
The Opportunity:
Midas is on the hunt for a creative and dynamic Account Executive to join our publishing and books team, working with some of the biggest and most exciting brands, authors and organisations across the book world. This is an unparalleled opportunity for an early career or aspiring publicist who is passionate about books and the wider creative industries.
You will be supporting our award-winning team in delivering creative and impactful publicity campaigns for our clients, working across books of all genres, with a variety of publishers, on cross-industry initiatives, and with literary events, festivals and awards.
Midas is the leading independent communications agency for books, publishing, culture and the arts. Our publishing clients include Bookshop.org, Waterstones Children’s Laureate, The Reading Agency, Audible, The London Book Fair, Books Are My Bag, International Dylan Thomas Prize, Wolfson History Prize and Cheltenham Literature Festival, as well authors such as Maggie O’Farrell, Monty Don, Sebastian de Souza, Lisa Taddeo and Emma Stonex, plus publishers Little Brown, 4th Estate and Penguin Random House.
The Midas team is currently working remotely in line with Government guidance. As such this role would initially involve home working until we can return to our offices in Central London.
Skills & Experience:
Experience working in a busy PR/marketing team, either at an agency or in-house
Demonstrable passion for books, culture and the wider arts
Strong writing skills, with excellent attention to detail
Self-motivated, hard-working and a team player
Excellent organisational skills
Ability to juggle accounts and work with different people
Demonstrable proficiency on social media
Good knowledge of the UK media across print, broadcast and digital
Key Responsibilities:
Assisting at events and press launches (virtually and, in time, in person)
Researching and writing press releases, and identifying and pitching to relevant media
Monitoring the media for coverage and opportunities
Supporting on administrative responsibilities for client management
