‘Britain’s Funniest Band’ The Horne Section surprises the public with performance at the Elton John Piano in St. Pancras International to celebrate children’s book Make Some Noise

London, Wednesday 17th July 2024 – This afternoon, comedy band The Horne Section delighted members of the public at St. Pancras International Station with a surprise performance to mark the publication of their first children’s book, Make Some Noise.

Described by the Guardian as ‘Britain’s Funniest Band’ and led by Alex Horne, creator and host of the hit Bafta winning TV Series Taskmaster, The Horne Section is a six-man band known for their trademark unruly, ridiculous and surprisingly satisfying stylings, having starred in their own hit Channel 4 TV show and chart-topping podcast alongside a range of TV appearances from The Last Leg to 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown.

Earlier today, the band gathered around the iconic Elton John Piano within St. Pancras for a fully coordinated performance with a range of acoustic instruments including a trumpet, banjo, saxophone, drum and bass guitar, filling the station with music as unsuspecting passers-by were able to watch and listen.

The performance falls the day before the publication of their first children’s book Make Some Noise, a hilarious and informative guide to everything there is to know about music – from funny tales to absurd history and unbelievable facts. The entertaining non-fiction will delight young music fans as well as curious minds looking to explore a new topic.

St. Pancras has become known for regular performances from stars, talented members of the local community, and even visitors from afar. The station’s main Arcade has become a hub of cultural activity over the years, curating a lively destination for exciting arts activations, and is host to the station’s public pianos. The Elton John piano was gifted to the station following a performance by John in 2016, which The Horne Section made use of today over 8 years later.
