This week at Midas: 14th-19th January

Our round-up of Midas announcements from the week:

We Play Games by Sarah A. Denzil

This new Audible Original blog tour starts on Monday 22nd January and runs until Saturday 27th January. Performed by Billie Piper and Dan Stevens, We Play Games tells the story of Effie and Ben May, a seemingly perfect couple who have just moved into an exclusive gated community, looking to settle down. But all isn’t as it first appears – as the two manipulate and scheme against their unsuspecting neighbours, cracks begin to show in their own relationship.

We Play Games is available from Audible at http://www.audible.co.uk.

BookTrust Reading Together

This week, we were proud to work with BookTrust – the UK’s largest children’s reading charity – on the launch of their Reading Together campaign. All 12 of the Waterstones Children’s Laureates joined BookTrust in their call on the Government to commit to a long-term investment in books and reading for children under seven because ‘it is not right that children from poorer backgrounds are deprived of a life that is rich in reading.’

Our packed media schedule began with BBC Breakfast and BBC Radio 4 Today, followed by blanket coverage on BBC News Channel, Channel 5 News, BBC Radio 2, 3, 4, 5 Live, 6 Music, LBC, Times Radio,  The Guardian, Telegraph, I, Express, Mirror, Mail Online, Independent, Evening Standard, The Big Issue, Press Association, ITV London, BBC London and much more.

A Fallen God by Michael J.Chaplin

Leading up to the launch of Michael J. Chaplin’s debut historical fiction novel, A Fallen God, inspired by the Tristan and Isolde myth, we successfully secured the cover story in The Guardian G2. The Guardian acclaimed the book as “a beautifully told fairytale,” dedicating four pages to explore fame, failure, and finding peace in Michael’s captivating journey to publication. A Fallen God is set to officially release on January 28, 2024.
